Handing over to the next generation

Andreas Kopetschny succeeds Wilhelm Hachtel

After 33 successful years at the company, Wilhelm Hachtel retired on 31 July from his operational role as chief executive of MHZ and will in future support the management team as a strategic advisor.

Andreas Kopetschny joined the MHZ management team as his successor on 1 August 2015. Mr Kopetschny has worked for MHZ for over 20 years. Since 2007, he has been leading MHZ Switzerland with great success as chief executive. “I know the company and look forward to the additional challenges,” said the 46-year-old.

The MHZ family business tradition is being continued with Mr Kopetschny, as he is one of the company founder's grandchildren. The personnel change thus represents a generational handover, securing continuity in management of the family business.
